Our recreational program includes Rec+ (optional). Rec+ will include games on weekends in a local recreational league (mainly Saturdays) in addition to practices during the weekdays. These games will be against teams outside or inside Cosmo Stars SC.
There will be an extra cost for Rec+ to cover the team's registration for the local recreational league. It will depend on the number of players/parents interested at the start of the season. Cost will be divided into the number of participants per team.
Coaches are former professional soccer players, on-the-field skilled soccer players, or experienced licensed coaches. Coaches might also be volunteers under limited circumstances. All coaches are required to be background checked, as well as trained and licensed through the U.S. Soccer Learning Center.
All players will be grouped in the same age/grade bracket to the best of our ability based on the number of players registered. The Relative Age Effect (RAE) will be considered with up to a two-year age difference in registered youth soccer players. Developmental soccer allows younger kids to practice with older kids to advance faster compared to competitive soccer. Special requests can be submitted to play on the same team as their friend, family member, or classmate. Requests are made at the time of online registration.
Training sessions will be focused on game-like practice if time allows. In other words, short duration and small side games are played during practices to exercise the class lessons. The coach divides the players into even teams. All players are guaranteed at least 50% of play time on any game.
Schedule for practices is determined based on age and will remain the same for the fall and spring seasons. For example, trainings for teams U13 and over will be on Mon/Wed and for teams U12 will be on Tue/Thur. All practice details will be determined by the coach of that team based on his/her availability as well as on the fields that are available and convenient to him/her. Any schedule changes will be discussed and agreed to with parents.
Practices over the winter and summer seasons may be different and will be determined at the end of the fall and spring seasons, respectively.
Additional information on recreational soccer can be found under programs.
